Firstly thanks to everyone who nominated speakers, it’s nice to see so many of you with such great suggestions. Thanks to your great response we’ve assembled a short list of potential speakers, attached to this e-mail. Now we are asking you all to vote for the top 3 speakers you would like us to invite using the Google Forms link below. Please vote by Wednesday Sept 21st.
Even if you didn’t nominate someone, please vote and encourage your labmates to vote! We all have to attend these seminars, the least we can do is invite someone that you want to see. Make sure you have your say!

The weather is definitively not cooperating with us for our dodgeball tournament. As it will most probably be raining tomorrow, we have to postpone it again.
However, we WILL have this first biochemistry dodgeball tournament this fall, but inside. We will keep you posted for the new date!
In the meantime, you can still signup to participate.
We will see you all later in the semester for the dodgeball tournament !

And if you don’t feel like playing, don’t forget to come and cheer on your favourite team!
See you all there !

BGSS is announcing our annual elections! What is BGSS? We are a group of biochemistry graduate students that get together to put on great events such as our annual Research Day, Holiday Happy Hour, CandyGrams, SkillSets, Summer BBQ and various other events. Did you enjoy these events and want to get involved or have an idea for a new event? We would love for you to join us!
How do you get involved? We are holding elections for all of our positions. We have 2 spots available for each of our executive positions, including President (x2), VP Finance (x2), VP Communications (x2) and PGSS Representatives (x2). If an executive position doesn’t appeal to you, we are always looking for more Student Life Representatives; these are our non-executive members who attend monthly meetings and help with our events but don’t have set responsibilities. You can read all about us and these positions in our constitution.
Our election period will be from June 1st to June 15th 2016. If you are interested in joining us simply e-mail our chief returning officer at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating which position you would like to be nominated for. We will send more information about the elections process in a follow-up email. At the end of the election period you will be contacted by the chief returning officer to organize a meeting with both the outgoing council and new members during the first week of July. This meeting will ratify the new council and begin our planning for the 2016 Summer BBQ!
We look forward to hearing from you!
